Voice of the Soul

On and on they flew, over the countryside parceled out in patches of green and brown, over roads and rivers winding through the landscapes like strips of matte and glossy ribbon.

... This is how J K Rowling, author of Harry Potter describes the art of painting.

Every form of art is the result of a unique temperament and thought. It is a result of the highest form of the mind - an outcome of a lot of research and thought. Some 14 years ago a lady told me, "The secret to a good painting is - learning to talk with colors. No one can teach you this but, yourself." I have attached a few paintings done by this revered lady below. I leave the readers to be the judge and share what they feel about the paintings. For me, they are just too wonderful!

These are but just a few of the numerous paintings the lady has done... some of you might be wondering who is that mystery lady! It is none other than my mother, Navanita who, is a free-thinking working woman. It is a wonder how she manages her time between going to work, managing the household single-handedly, looking after her 2 kids and maintaining her hobby. It is not just painting that binds her, she goes on to make masterpieces by wood-carving, sand-painting, stitching, embroidery and a lot of other things.

I am sure the readers would agree with what Pablo Picasso said...

Every now and then one paints a picture that seems to have opened a door and serves as a stepping stone to other things.
